The Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is aimed exclusively for Team Leaders, Supervisors and managers as well as for the individuals who wish to enhance their health and safety skill and to enhance their CPD.
This qualification is specifically intended for employed professionals those who as Team Leaders, supervisors and Managers in an organization's structure and for those who are adapting to start their career at this level. This qualification is also useful for young workers especially to raise their skills in identifying and understanding the different workplace hazards in their workplace.
Employees/persons acquiring this qualification will know that Team Leaders, Supervisors and Managers in an organization will have Legal and Moral obligations to ensure health and safety, includes obligations to the employees, visitors, contractors, suppliers, and others.
Its subject areas are regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as being important to developing and maintaining safe working procedures in the workplace
There is one mandatory unit in this qualification:
Unit 1: Health and Safety in the Workplace
- Understand the requirements for health, safety and welfare in the workplace.
- Understand the benefits of using a safety management system.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment.
- Understand the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards.
To achieve this qualification learners must successfully complete the assessment for the Unit.
Five days Classroom based training
How is the qualification assessed?
This qualification is assessed through a 60 multiple-choice question examination. The duration of the examination is 2 hours. Learners have to score at least 40 out of 30 to achieve this qualification. Learners will achieve Merit at 50/60.
